Professional biography
Lijo Chacko is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern specializing in child and adolescent counseling, with an expected graduation date of December 2026. Lijo is currently training in Adlerian therapy, Theraplay, and play therapy, and is deeply interested in developmentally appropriate, relationship-based, and strengths-focused approaches to supporting children and families.
Lijo brings a strong foundation in family systems and child development, supported by hands-on experience as a Family Support Specialist with the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York.
In this role, Lijo collaborated closely with families navigating complex social service systems, developed individualized service plans, maintained detailed case documentation, and provided parent education on child development, behavior management, and emotional regulation. Lijo also advocated for families, coordinated community resources, and supported the strengthening of family support networks.
