Professional biography
AnnCharlotte Tavlacci is a School of Visual Arts and Long Island University alumna who lives and works on Long Island. She is an Art Therapist, adjunct professor at Long Island University, and fine artist.
As a New York State Licensed and Board Certified Art Therapist, AnnCharlotte provides creative arts therapy and educational services for adults and children. Her work explores creative resources that may support anxiety, self-esteem, depression, communication, family or relationship concerns, and overall personal growth.
Before private practice, AnnCharlotte implemented therapeutic arts and studio practices through a program she started in a New York City private school for children ages three through adolescence. She also worked at a government nonprofit, practicing art through activism and advocating for homeless and mentally ill residents of New York City.
AnnCharlotte teaches Art Therapy and Social Action alongside other courses that blend fine arts and psychology. She views art therapy as a nonverbal language for personal growth, insight, and healing that can be used alongside talk therapy in a dynamic approach.
AnnCharlotte has worked with deafblind, mentally ill, and homeless adults and children across levels of functioning. Her work is grounded in the belief that artistic expression holds infinite possibilities for personal growth, inner strength, and hope.
